Something Stupid

There is something missing in my days. Somebody, please tell me what I have gone wrong. Mandi tak basah, makan tak kenyang. I know that I am blessed with amazing friends but I am at a major state of depression now. Oh wow, all my day I can't concentrate. What is happening to me? You used to be the sun of my day. But I can't explain it now. What happened? Give me something to break up this boredom. I tried to keep myself busy but I still can't stop thinking of you. I felt empty on the day I left you.

Oh Slb, I want you. I miss you. =p

I woke up so early on monday. Wanted to get dressed for work. This is critical. Call me over. Call me dramatic. Coz these are whats on my mind. Honestly. Am I crazy? SILENCE

Conspiracy

I put on weight. I'm 78kg now. I was doing quite well maintaining my weight at 75kg. But the weighing machine said that I put on weight (maybe the machine conspires against me, i hate you machine). Danial Nizam is known for his habit of blaming others first in everything. So here goes. The reasons why I put on weight:

  1. Giraffe drove to work. My routine changed tremendously. I sat conveniently in the car. No sweat at all.
  2. The Chambers (my workstation in slb) is filled with food especially when nearing Christmas. I munch all the time.
  3. Free food at level 16.
  4. Princess frog likes to layan my cravings (or is it the other way around?). So we went out to eat all the time.
  5. TWO days of "Nasi Lemak Day" last week. (Nasi lemak day means nasi lemak for breakfast, lunch and dinner). So I blame the cooks (siapa suruh masak sedap-sedap).
  6. My best friends don't do the sunday jogging session anymore at TTDI Park.
  7. I don't have trouble to put on weight. That's not as nice as it sounds. I put on weight easily. So I blame my gene.
See. I'm not at fault and it's beyond all reasonable doubts that i'm not guilty.

Climate Change

Saturday, December 19, 2009

I'm currently researching on climate change. Mr Nagarajah wants us (giraffe and i) to further research in the scope of Malaysia. We have to look on whether there are sufficient legislations with regards to climate change. The last time I heard of the word 'climate change' was during my high school era. I'm sorry planet for being an ignorant citizen. Anyways, I want to assert first Malaysia's stand in this issue.

She has ratified and signed:
  1. Kyoto Protocol and
  2. UN Framework Convention on Climate Change
  3. and has become prominent figure in climate change conferences around the globe.
Good Efforts.

Now, what is Climate Change?
Look around you; can you feel the temperature rising? At times, suddenly the weather changes so rapidly- it gets so hot for half of the day and then it rains in the evening. The weather is weird nowadays.

This is climate change. In simpler terms coz i'm not a scientist.

Although the Kyoto Protocol is the god of all protocols in controlling climate change, most developed countries don't want the protocol to become legally binding. Looks like these giants are running away from their environment debts which they owe to our planet. From my observation, Malaysia is doing well in pledging the protocol's principles but results were not significant. This is not a job for a developing country but all nations should join forces to curb climate change.

The most funny article that I came across is this one article which blames fat people as one of the factors of climate change. HAHA. The authors claimed that:
"When it comes to food consumption, moving about in a heavy body is like driving around in a gas guzzler."
Fat people were likely to be more responsible for carbon emissions because they consume more fuel and food. The author also said that they have higher dependency on cars (to get more food i assume). How true is this? I don't know.

Uh huh.. I'm going to take the stairs up to 19th floor this Monday! Sweat fatty bom bom! For the planet, I will.

These gas emissions should be cut! Giraffe, stop emitting your silent killer gas too! It's bad for environment. Whatever it is, the climate change resulted from humans activities and lifestyle. If nothing is being improved within 10years, we're gonna experience the worst of climate change, the global temperature will increase. We have been warned. (cuak)

Therefore, blame yourself and it is now time to change! Use public transport, R.E.C.Y.C.L.E, and reduce our carbon emissions ( this includes your deodorant, so use roll-ons) to guarantee a more sustainable future. If not we can't dive and surf our proud beaches anymore. (one of the examples lah). To be honest, this whole climate change thing is making me cuak. Bertaubatlah danial.

The outcome of this research will be discussed on this monday. Let's pledge to save our planet!

This post is dedicated to Mother Nature *cue song: Earth Song by MJ...aahhh ahhhaaahh ooohh oohhh hooooo*

During this time of the year, the just completed second year student of my school will have to undergo a "practical training".(except for geek and baldy).Training. One month? Wth. So short. Anyhow, i decided to do mine at a firm. In a not so ordinary firm. Yeah. The firm: not your typical firm: a big huge one: top 3 in msia: the bomb:

SHOOK LIN & BOK aka SLB!#
# For all of you who don't know what SLB is click the link above and be amazed.

To be frank, i'm kinda surprised to get offered a place in SLB. I'm sure it was not based on looks coz i did'nt attach a passport-sized photo of myself. Maybe i'm destined to be with slb. Only god knows.

I love the firm so much. Mainly because of the people there. Really nice people. And also because of the dedicated tea lady! (She'll drop by twice daily)

So why did i choose SLB in the first place? SLB has a powerful shipping department! That's why! *Lighting strikes!*

I'm not alone there. Giraffe is there too (I submitted his resume. haha) And also a few bunch of uitm munchkins.

SO here is my routine everyday:

6.45am Chickens wake me up. I get up. Shower and get dressed.
7.25am My mum send me to Kl Sentral monorail.
7.40am Take the train to Raja Chulan. (This stage is quite crucial. If I arrive in Kl Sentral after 8.10am, I'll be late for work)
8.10am Reach Raja Chulan. Walk to Menara Ambank (where SLB is situated) Get a bun at The Weld.
8.15am Get a temperature check at the lobby( HINI alert!) and take the lift to level 19.
8.20am Arrive at work early(I'm punctual! I'm one of the early birds) Get another temperature check from our receptionist at level 20.
8.30am Lepak in Chambers(this is our workstation) Start working. I work on usually research for all the lawyers. My favourite work is definitely from Mr Nagarajah. The shipping god. When lucky, i'll go to courts.
12.45pm Lunch at The Weld (muak dah).
2.00pm Get back to the Chambers. Work. Sometimes, take short nap: recharge. Socialize with lawyers.
5.30pm It's time to go home! Walk with giraffe to klcc. Why? Ok. Here's the thing. KL is so overpopulated now. This is our way to avoid the crowd. Go to kino!
7.00pm Hop on lrt from Klcc(duhh). Say bye-bye to giraffe at Kl Sentral. Stop at Taman Paramount. My mum fetch me.
7.30pm Dinner and get home.
8.00pm Shower. Attachment in a place so far is sweaty! Facebook.
9.00pm Call friends. Lepak if not tired.
11.00pm If no one's interested, switch off the lights. Sleep.

Saturday & Sunday: OFF. * Hangs 'Do not disturb' sign on the door knob* Eldest son is kitchen helper, toilet cleaner, driver, socialite, rubbish thrower, baby sitter, errand runner, expectations carrier. Pffft.

Everyone is busy. And geek once told me that: "This whole practical thing is a preview of our working life." I looked at giraffe, he looked back at me and we started laughing. We're stuck. HAHA

A perfect day in a shopping mall

Thursday, December 10, 2009

The following tips are exclusive only to people who aspire to taste a day of perfection in a shopping mall. Diri ini begitu bertuah dapat melalui satu hari bersama Mr Perfect aka Geek.

Teruja yang tidak terkata pabila diajak batting one fine day yang lalu. Tidak keseorangan pada hari tersebut tetapi ditemani baldy. Batting is my new found talent. I didnt know that i can bat fairly good for an amateur. Jadi berikut adalah tips yang dapat dikongsi hasil outing with the most perfect friend i've ever had (sediakan pen dan pensil if you did'nt bring em just imagine you have em):
  1. Mulakan perjalanan anda di mall dengan strepsils.
  2. Kemudian, senyum dan melambailah rambut gemalai anda (if your hair is not long just try to pretend it's long so that it will not fail your attempt to perfection) ketika berjalan di mall.
  3. When eating praise every food served and eat em with pleasure.
  4. Then make sure you find a NIKE store then just browse around tak kisah lah beli ke tak. This is just to make sure you update yourself on sports attire and what not. Penting!
  5. Retro is back aint it? As a fashion forward guy, find anything retro and show it praise it infront of your friends.
  6. I was astonished to find out that his size is so perfect that hampir kesemua clothing bagaikan made customized for him. This is just not your luck people. Mungkin badannya adalah acuan mannequin-mannequin being displayed in every store. Who knows. Tips ke-enam: don't try clothes infront of your friends instead ask them to try and comment it with fashionable words.
  7. Sebelum berakhirnya hari di mall, pastikan anda mengakhirinya dengan sebotol Tinge berperisa peach. You can feel some force inside you. Seriously. Baldy and i were fortunate to have tasted the drink. Tibe.
  8. AND the most important thing is take the right door before you exit. (baldy, you failed this part. So close!) The ending of the trip was so irony. On our way to get into the car, the background song was a so dramatic song which impliedly meant to acknowledge our perfect day.
Dikesempatan ini, saya berasa sangat terharu dengan peluang merasai a perfect day in a shopping mall with the perfect person.
Hence, when a perfect being ask you out answer YES. Kesempurnaan (perfection) itu bukan hak milik setiap insan. Note this giraffe.
That is me. I can bat at any speed. Puked.

Compare please

Buying things is important. It's like an obligation. That's why we were put on earth. I barely make it through the month without having to scrape off my coin box just to have the last of murni's banana special. Heaven.
During recession and economic crisis, people are advised to save up but who does that? We are the sheeps of capitalism (geek).
My weekly allowance is drying and my pockets are straining. Doughs flying out of all sides of my pockets just to meet my basic needs mainly FOOD. I eat a lot.
Being single makes you a lot richer so blame it on the girls. haha. But still it seems that we consume money like we consume water. Experience in working field made me realize that "betapa susahnya mencari duit". But my dad always tell me that "duit boleh dicari". I love you papito.
Having said that, during this whole bad economic scenario, i managed to buy a checkered shirt . (i used the money which came from green packets i saved since raya)

Two words of advice:
1. When you shop, dont rush. Browse first.compare prices.
2. ALWAYS make sure your wardrobe can fit your stuff. Mine is gonna roboh anytime.

So there was the checkered season * for guys* last year, me being pressured by the trend wanted a checkered so badly. but the checkered shirts available were just ridiculously overpriced. So i waited and watched the season went by.... bye bye

and one fine day i went to Topman and sangat tertarik with this checkered:

TADAAA
Price: RM 166

but another one fine day came and i saw this at Cotton On:

TADAA TADAA

Price: RM99

Both look identical right! So i grabbed the latter checkered shirt like nobody's business. That's the greatness of comparing prices. I saved (RM166-RM99=RM67)!
I have a checkered now. I'm setting the trend back!.puked.

I'm tasteful and genius. *Clap clap*
